Udall Shumway PLC Welcomes Phil David Ortega to Education Law Section

MESA, Ariz. - Aug. 18, 2015 - PRLog -- Phil David Ortega joined Udall Shumway PLC in 2015. He is a member of the Education Law section, representing the firm’s education law clients throughout the State.

Mr. Ortega attended Arizona Summit Law School where he was the recipient of the Raul Castro Scholarship and graduated cum Laude. Prior to completing his legal education, Mr. Ortega was a teacher at a Phoenix junior high school. He taught 7^th and 8^th grade language arts and structured English Immersion classes. Mr. Ortega was also an athletic director and coach during his teaching career. Mr. Ortega has written an article, H.B. 2563 The Bible in Arizona Schools – A Constitutional Analysis, which was published in Volume 6, Phoenix Law Review, 805 (2013).

Mr. Ortega began his legal career working at the Arizona Court of Appeals, the City of Phoenix Prosecutors Office, and most recently as a law clerk at the Arizona Court of Appeals for the Honorable John C. Gemmill.

Mr. Ortega is currently a member of the State Bar of Arizona, the Arizona Asian American Bar Association, the Thurgood Marshall Inn of Court, the Maricopa County Bar Association, and was recently appointed to the Board of Directors for the Los Abogados Hispanic Bar Association.
