ATO 2015 Annual Meeting highlights the power of technology, features mobile app

The Association of Trust Organizations' 2015 Annual Meeting will take place in Nashville, Tennessee, highlighting the 'Power of Technology' for ATO members, meeting sponsors and attendees.

ADA, Okla. - Aug. 18, 2015 - PRLog -- From September 27-29, 2015, the historic Hermitage Hotel in downtown Nashville, Tenn., will be hosting the annual meeting of the Association of Trust Organizations (ATO). The theme of this year’s meeting is “The Power of Technology.” ATO members and meeting attendees alike will be treated to sessions and discussion groups pertaining to the growing use of technology, and its effects on how they do business in an ever-changing financial services and wealth management industry landscape.

“Good technology, artfully implemented, makes us all more powerful, so this year we are exploring everything technology has to offer at the 2015 Annual Meeting,” said ATO President Daniel K. Carter.

“This year’s theme is extremely relevant, and our industry is at a point today where many of our executives are looking at new technologies and how they can change the way they do business, for the better,” Carter said.  “Additionally, we are entering into a realm where we will soon be competing directly with technology for clients and new business, and we should explore those avenues, as well.”

ATO’s Executive Director Somerlyn Cothran said the annual meeting this year will be featuring an app –live on August 27—in keeping with the technological theme.

“ATO’s mobile annual meeting app will bring the experience at the 2015 Annual Meeting to a new level,” said Cothran. “Attendees will be able to see more, do more, and get more value out of the event—right from their mobile device.”

Cothran said features of the app, sponsored this year by INFOVISA, will include:

The full event agenda sorted by day and speaker, as well as the ability to rate the speakers and their sessions directly on the app; the ability to connect and exchange contact details with other attendees; will allow attendees to share annual meeting experiences on social media, and follow the annual meeting on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram at #ATOAM15; finding speakers and breakout session locations with hotel maps; seeing details about all of the speakers and sponsors; and, notifications about networking opportunities and other annual meeting news pushed directly to mobile devices.

Attendees will need to make sure to download the app to their mobile device through either the App Store or Android Google Play so they can stay up-to-date throughout the meeting, Cothran said. Also, once the app is downloaded, it performs optimally whether or not there’s an Internet connection. When connected, the app downloads updates (like a schedule or room change). Once downloaded, all of the data is stored locally on the device so it’s accessible even if there’s no wi-fi.

“We are very pleased to be able to bring you the annual meeting app this year, and we’re looking forward to the new possibilities this technology presents,” Cothran said. “We would like to thank our 2015 app sponsor INFOVISA.”
