NEW YORK - Aug. 18, 2015 - PRLog -- There’s no breaking the bond two sisters have with one another, no matter how different their personalities may be. Sister's Keeper is a story of love, friendship, family and HIV. It follows the lives of two sisters, Eve and Margo, who refuse to let their different lifestyles cause them to forget their common bond. When crisis strikes, they are reminded that family is the refuge we run to for safety in the time of trouble. Sister’s Keeper is a re-write of the play Miracles, which was originally written by the late Lynda J. Jones in 1999 and performed in front of hundreds of people. Lynda’s daughters, Terri Jones Salter and Sherri Jones collaborated with Cordelia Donovan to continue their mother’s legacy. Sister’s Keeper is co-written by Cordelia Donovan and Terri Jones Salter, and directed by Cordelia Donovan. All public relations for the production is being handled by Sherri Jones. Sister's Keeper will have its world premiere September 10th – 14th in Theater for the New City's 2015 Dream Up Festival.

This production shines the spotlight on a topic still considered taboo in many communities. Sister’s Keeper aims to begin an impactful narrative around the HIV/AIDS epidemic in today’s society with its acclaimed cast and soulful music and lyrics written by Kyle Bynoe of CMORE5 Music, Inc.

Sister’s Keeper stars Torrie Nicole (Eve), Jasmine Renee Thomas (Margo), Michael Chandlar (Brandon), Clifford Jones (Troy), Dominique Andriese (Tonette), Tobias Truvillion (Rick), Sahara Frett (Taylor), Greer Morrison (Physician), Janaki Gerard (Bartender) and Nelson Hernandez (Handsome Stranger).

The sixth Dream Up Festival (www.dreamupfestival.org) will be presented by Theater for the New City (TNC) from August 30th to September 20, 2015, offering a lineup of wide-ranging and original theatrical visions embracing drama, musicals, improv, aerial and more. This year, owing to growing popularity, the festival has expanded beyond its primary venue. Previously, all productions were presented at Theater for the New City, 155 First Ave. This year, 19 productions will be presented at TNC and 7 will be presented at an outside venue, The Producers Club Theaters at 358 West 44th Street.

The festival is dedicated to new works. TNC feels this festival is especially needed now in a time of declining donations to the arts, when grants are not being awarded due to market conditions and arts funding is being cut across the country and abroad. The festival aims to push ideas to the forefront through imaginative presentations so as to challenge audience expectations and make us question our understanding of the way art illuminates the world around us.
