New Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) Begins Enrolling Participants in Monmouth

OCEANPORT, N.J. - Aug. 17, 2015 - PRLog -- Oceanport, N.J. – A new Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) has begun enrollment for Monmouth County residents. The Beacon of LIFE center was established to deliver PACE services and will provide community-based care and services to people who otherwise need nursing home level of care.

“PACE programs exist to help the elderly live safely in their own community for as long as possible,” says Susan Skola, Executive Director of Beacon of LIFE. “Our elderly residents of Monmouth County can now receive comprehensive health care and recreational care needs while continuing to reside in their own homes.”

In order to enroll in a PACE program, individuals must be age 55 or older, live in the service area of a PACE organization, be certified as meeting the need for nursing home level of care by their state, and have the ability to live safely in the community with the support of PACE services.

The newly renovated facility is situated on a 16-acre campus setting in Fort Monmouth. Transportation to and from the facility is provided to participants. Among the services participants receive are primary care, social services, physical therapy, home health care, prescription drugs, dental care, adult day care and much more.

“With our PACE program, families can rest assured that their loved ones are being taken care of, especially if they are not ready or do not want to move into a nursing home,” said Skola. “Beacon of LIFE provides a unique program based on individual participants’ needs so that participants can receive medical and nursing care and participate in recreational activities and other therapies all under one roof.”

Beacon of LIFE accepts Medicaid, Medicare or private payment. If participants are eligible and enroll in PACE and are Medicaid or Medicare and Medicaid eligible, they pay no fees for all authorized health care services.  Participants may be fully liable for the costs of unauthorized or out-of-PACE program services. Enrollment is voluntary and participants may disenroll at any time.
