Local training organisation garners international awards

HERVEY BAY, Australia - Aug. 16, 2015 - PRLog -- Hervey Bay based registered training organisation, Simple Solutions, is celebrating at the moment with not one but two staff being awarded international scholarships in the past two months.

The first award went to CEO, Natalie Sell, who was recognised for her expertise in dementia care with an international scholarship from the Memory Bridge Foundation in the USA.  Mrs Sell was selected from over 80 applicants from 7 countries to participate in the annual dementia training retreat held in the USA which has previously only been open to US citizens.

“The retreat was an amazing opportunity and I was so humbled to be selected to participate and learn with a great group of people.  Now I am looking forward to bringing Memory Bridge to Australian aged care services, hopefully starting close to home on the Fraser Coast” said Mrs Sell.

A second award came last week when Simple Solutions trainer, Julie Scott, was awarded a Global Connections Bursary through the Queensland Overseas Foundation to travel to New Zealand to participate in an international conference on vocational education which will contribute to the work and training outcomes of Queensland vocational education and training students and apprentices.

Ms Scott is eagerly anticipating her trip and is looking forward to integrating even more creative ways of teaching and assessing vocational education and training students into her practice following the conference.

“I believe that all of our students have great potential and look forward to having even more engaging ways to help them to achieve their goals” said Ms Scott.

“This recognition for a local aged care, mental health and disability support training organisation demonstrates how a small organisation in a regional area can provide quality services of an international standard through a commitment to excellence and we look forward to sharing the benefits of our hard work with the community” said Mrs Sell.
