IL Auxiliary Wives Behind the Badge: Paint Illinois Blue

CHICAGO - Aug. 15, 2015 - PRLog -- This year National Thank a Police Officer Day will be recognized on Saturday, September 19^th and in an effort to bring much needed appreciation to the men and women of law enforcement the Illinois Auxiliary of Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. is sponsoring “Paint Illinois Blue” across the entire state of Illinois. The Illinois Auxiliary Director, Allison, says “we are encouraging all Illinois communities to get behind “Paint Illinois Blue” by proudly displaying their blue ribbons, and supporting our social media campaign #iSupportBlue”.

The auxiliary has arranged various public photo shoots throughout Illinois. These photo sessions are open to all law enforcement supporters who wish to show their support and say #iSupportBlue. Those in attendance are encouraged to wear blue clothing and bring a sign with a positive message for law enforcement. The photos taken during these sessions will be compiled by our media liaison and released on 9/19/2015 through our social media page and emailed to many law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois.

So far in 2015, 70 law enforcement officers have died in the line of duty. Law enforcement officers and their families deal with incredible stressors and there is no end in sight. Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. wishes to serve as a positive voice for law enforcement in communities across the nation with events like Paint Illinois Blue.

Funds raised from events like this go to law enforcement officers and their families in times of need. A portion of Paint Illinois Blue funds will be used to deliver lunch to a variety of law enforcement agencies throughout the state of Illinois.

The Illinois Auxiliary – Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. is a registered not-for-profit in the state of Illinois and was established to support law enforcement officers and their families.  All monies raised in and for the state remain there to assist in times of need and through the parent organization’s programs.  Donations can be made through PayPal or by visiting Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. online.
