Follow on Google News | Historic Fort Harrison Hosts Star-studded Concert to Honor Clearwater CentennialFrom Jazz, to Broadway, to Rock and Roll and back to jazz, Clearwater Florida has a lot to celebrate on August 29th.
By: Church of Scientology Flag The evening begins with a cocktail reception at 7pm, and the event will begin at 8pm with US Congressman David Jolly giving a special presentation to the City of Clearwater. “The show itself is a history of Clearwater through the music that was a part of the area’s culture,” said Lisa Mansell, the show’s executive producer. “Clearwater has a deeper history in music than most people think.” “L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology, appreciated a broad range of musical genres,” said Ms. Mansell, “and was himself an accomplished musician, composer and musical director. As the Church of Scientology has been a part of the Clearwater community for nearly 40 years, a concert like this seems an apt acknowledgement to the musical heritage of Clearwater.” Genres featured in the show include Jazz, Broadway, 50’s rock and roll and songs from the “Star Spectaculars” There is no cost to attend the event, but RSVPs are required. For more information, please call (727) 467-6860. The Fort Harrison is located at 210 S. Fort Harrison Ave. in downtown Clearwater and is the international religious retreat for the Church of Scientology. End
