CHICAGO - Aug. 13, 2015 - PRLog -- Chicago is a city that is looking forward to the future. To the year 2020, to be precise. The municipality has a goal of attracting 55 million American and international visitors annually by that date. To this end the city fathers and mothers are in the process of unveiling a plethora of tourist attractions.

The just opened 606 (http://www.the606.org/) is a great place to mingle with locals, as folks walk, run or bike along a 2.7 mile expanse that links a series of attractive pocket parks. Another lovely spot for a stroll is the new Riverwalk (http://www.cityofchicago.org/city/en/depts/cdot/supp_info/chicago_riverwalk.html), from where you can enjoy a great view of Chicago's magnificent architecture and river front. The final phase of the Riverwalk is slated for completion in 2016 so stay tuned.

The Pullman Historic District (http://www.pullmanil.org/) has recently been declared a national monument. Located on the far South Side, Pullman has historical significance as the first planned industrial town in the USA and the place where the eponymously titled luxury railway cars were produced for many years.

Returning to the 21st century, Navy Pier (https://navypier.com/) is a great place to while away one of your vacation days in Chicago. This site, also in the process of renewal, really has it all, combining museums, exhibition halls, shopping, restaurants and even a Ferris wheel!

Perhaps the most iconic Chicago landmark is baseball's Wrigley Field (http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/chc/ballpark/). The Field underwent a face lift last year and is better than ever with two new video boards and an expanded bleacher section. So why not catch a Cubs game while you are in town?

Don’t forget that Chicago is a popular destination. Chicago has so much to see and do that you’ll appreciate staying in a comfortable hotel with easy access to everything. The nicer and lower priced Chicago hotels tend to fill up fast in any season, though, so it’s a good idea to reserve in advance (http://crshotels.com/).
