Vistage Chair George Casey Launches New Private Advisory Board for Chief Executives In Southern Maine

PORTLAND, ME, ISSUED August 11, 2015…Vistage Chair George Casey of Freeport, ME has launched a new Chief Executive Peer Advisory Group in the Portland/ Southern ME market.   The core purpose of the group is to increase the effectiveness and enhance the lives of the members.

Casey will lead the new group, which brings Chief Executive Officers and business owners of Maine-based companies together to meet monthly to discuss their business issues and opportunities, share expertise, participate in nationally-recognized speaker workshops, and provide each other with confidential help to achieve their personal and business objectives.

He joins a Vistage community of more than 800 Chairs globally who lead local area groups; these groups total nearly 20,000 members in 16 countries.

The new Southern Maine group, which presently has half-dozen senior executive members, is on track to increase to the targeted 12-18 members over the next several months. The group meets monthly at various Southern Maine locations, including the home offices of the members.

The group includes businesses from across a diverse grouping, drawing CEOs from a university, a resort, a medical device company, a non-profit social service provider, a medical service provider, and a construction company. “We have a great core group of professionals in this group,” he said, adding, “And we are looking for additional like-minded senior executives and business owners who see the value that a peer to peer group can offer.”

The Portland/Southern Maine Vistage group is part of a network of 27 such Groups in the New England/New York area.  Notably, the Southern Maine Vistage Group headed by Casey is the first such group to launch in the State of Maine.

About George Casey

George Casey is an accomplished businessman, a US Navy veteran, and an author, who is also a native New Englander. The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (Bachelor of Science in Engineering) and Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (MBA) graduate has enjoyed a national career in home building and master planned community development.

He has over 35 years’ experience in the real estate industry as an operating executive, consultant, and board member.   He has served as the Chief Executive Officer for Orleans Homes (Bensalem, PA), Christopherson Homes (Santa Rosa, CA) and Zaring Homes (Cincinnati, OH), guiding each through significant organizational change.  He has developed and built communities with as many as 16,000 homes and over 65,000 residents.

Casey is a frequent speaker at the Pacific Coast Builder’s Conference (PCBC), the Housing Leadership Conference, and the Urban Land Institute (ULI) on topics involving trends in residential development, operational improvement techniques, and strategic repositioning issues.   He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, and is a Governor of the Urban Land Institute Foundation.    Additionally, he is the author of articles for Builder and Professional Builder magazines on topics involving strategy for homebuilders and residential developers. Casey has also authored a book, “Is the Juice Worth the Squeeze: The Valuable Habit of Learning from Your Business Experiences” (available on Amazon.com).

The Navy veteran served two tours in Viet Nam as a Lieutenant leading Construction Battalion (Seabee) projects in the Mekong Delta and is a recipient of the Bronze Star medal along with other decorations.

He currently also serves as the CEO of Stockbridge Associates, LLC, a national strategic planning consultancy for residential builders, developers and investors.
