VideoStitch showcases its real time 3D 360 streaming software at Siggraph conference

LOS ANGELES - Aug. 12, 2015 - PRLog -- VideoStitch, a company specialized in 360 live streaming, has just announced a new service to make three-dimensional real time stitching possible.

“Today the standard in 360 live streaming is still 2D, but for real life events to be truly realistic in Virtual Reality we will need to make the leap towards real time live streaming in 3D”, said VideoStitch founder and CEO, Nicolas Burtey. “

Consumer grade virtual reality will be hitting the market early next year, with headsets becoming widely available. Anyone will then be able to teleport themself to other places around the world, real or imaginary ones. VideoStitch’s solution enables you to attend actual events going on without physically being there. You can look around, and see your surroundings exactly how you would have in real life, with the highest resolution, true color and depth.

We’ve seen two major revolutions in video content in the last few years: 3D video (view a scene as you would in real life), and 360 video (be immersed in a scene). Today VideoStitch is the first company to demo a solution for combining those two in real-time. Other solutions on the market today involve a set of sixteen GoPros to do 360 3D. However the large size content needs to be uploaded on the cloud and then it takes hours for the final video to be processed. Why wait when you can broadcast your event live? The aim is to be there.
