SANTA FE, N.M. - Aug. 10, 2015 - PRLog -- If sleep is a problem for you, as it is for millions of people, this will be welcome news. The popular sleep series by guided imagery author Max Highstein has a new edition.

Sleep Well Tonight: Under The Stars By A Mountain Stream is a guided relaxation program that you’re meant to listen to at bedtime. You’re taken on an inner journey to a path by a mountain stream, where you soon find your campground waiting. The softly spoken narration, gentle background music, and sweet sound of a mountain stream all combine for a very hypnotic effect. Soon you’re climbing into your sleeping bag and counting the stars, as your eyes close.

A complete body relaxation follows, as is included in all five of the Sleep Well Tonight programs. Here’s an excerpt:

"..It’s starting to get late, and the sun has gone down, and the first stars have already begun to come out. And you’re quite tired from your long hike today. So you sit down on your bed, and take in the deep feeling of peace that’s here for you.

"It’s getting hard to keep your eyes open, so you climb into your sleeping bag, and settle into your comfy bed. The stars have all come out now, and you can see the milky way painting the dark night sky. More stars than you could ever count. And just as you’re closing your eyes, a bright shooting star crosses the sky above you, signaling the perfect end to your day.

"It’s time to go to sleep now, so feel your body begin to relax. Starting with your feet, allow all the tension to leave them. They’ve worked hard for you today, and deserve a rest. And so the relaxation in your feet finds its way into your ankles, your calves, and your knees..."

Author Max Highstein (http://www.maxhighstein.com), who also narrates, has a soothing style of delivery that’s a little unusual. “I’m not a fan of the 'droning' way of speaking that’s common to most guided imagery narrators”, he says.

“I find the monotone style doesn’t really offer the positive effect that it was once thought to. It's a very old way of doing guided imagery that comes out of the early hypnosis work done decades ago. But why? It’s possible to inject a bit of life and color into the reading, while still bringing the listener into a deep state of relaxation. I’ve always approached guided meditation production this way, even when I was hiring voice talent early on. That's the way we made the first Healing Waterfall guided meditation in 1985, and it's still one of the most popular programs of its kind.”

Sleep Well Tonight Under The Stars By A Mountain Stream follows the first four in the guided imagery series: Sleep Luxury Hotel; Cottage by the Sea; Overnight Train; and Comfy Cozy Farmhouse. Find them all at The Healing Waterfall website: http://www.guidedimagerydownloads.com.
