Aug. 7, 2015 - PRLog -- Do PAP generic medications offer free drugs?

No, the drugs are always branded. The companies that are associated with PAP offers what they make and the drugs are brand name medications. These medications are the same branded medications that your doctor prescribes and you would pay the full price to get these at a local pharmacy.

What is the Criteria and Process of receiving the free medication?

Every PAP has planned on how its enrolled patients will be getting its medications. Out of one of these 3 ways, most medications are delivered to patients:

1.       The medications are mailed directly to your home or the address that you have provided for delivery.

2.       Medications are directly delivered to your doctor who will dispense to you without any extra charges.

3.       PAP can dispense your medications at local pharmacy for a little or no cost while you are using the ‘pharmacy card’ given to you by a drug company.

1.       The speed with which you and your doctor(s) provide the related information to the company.

2.        Depending on the nature of PAP.

Who is eligible to get enrolled in a PAP?

Different Patient Assistance programs have their own eligibility criteria. Although, each PAP vary to a greater extent but they also have common things as:

1.       Sources of income and the income in the household based on number of people.

2.        Patients are citizen of US or not. Some PAP’s require patients to be citizen of US to avail the free or low cost medications.

3.       If there’s a lack of any other source of help for drug costs like Medicaid, state programs that usually covers prescriptions or insurance on prescriptions.

You can only qualify for the Patient Assistance program if:

1.       If you have the health insurance but  don’t have  prescription insurance

2.       You have got the prescription insurance but only have received annual maximum benefit, so in most cases you are eligible.

3.        You already have Medicare part D but have reached to the ‘gap’ or commonly called as ‘donut hole’. You can get help if you have ‘gap’ of Medicare Part D.

4.        You don’t have as much income as now but your federal 1040 income is too high. Then you can qualify for such program based on your current income.
