The National Bar Association Honors Snell & Wilmer Attorney Karl Riley with its 40 Under 40 Award

LAS VEGAS - Aug. 7, 2015 - PRLog -- Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Karl Riley, an attorney in the firm’s Las Vegas office, received the National Bar Association’s (NBA) 40 Under 40 Award at the organization’s 90th Annual Convention in Los Angeles.

The NBA’s 40 Under 40 Awards honors lawyers under 40 years old who exemplify a broad range of high achievement, innovation, vision, leadership and legal and community involvement. The awardees typically represent a cross-section of legal professionals, including big firm, solo and industry practitioners, government lawyers, judges, academicians, corporate counsel, young elected officials, and various other lawyers, all of whom are using their degree in innovative and community impacting ways.

In addition to the NBA’s 40 Under 40 Award, Riley has received the Rising Star of Business Award by the Las Vegas Business Press in 2014, Lawyers of Color Hot List 100 for the Western Region in 2013 and the 50-Hour Club and Honor Roll recognitions by the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada. He also received the President’s Brother of the Year Award by the Las Vegas Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi in 2011.

Riley practices in Snell & Wilmer’s commercial litigation, labor and employment and government relations. He represents the firm’s clients in various contracts disputes, particularly in banking, real estate, entity control, business conflicts and a variety of financial issues. Riley defends the firm’s clients in all types of discrimination and harassment claims under Title VII and state law, as well as wage and hour disputes. Riley is also a member of the firm’s Attorney Development and Diversity & Inclusion Committee.

Riley is active in the community and serves on several industry boards. He serves as the Chair in the Young Lawyers Division for the NBA, sits on the National Advisory Board of the National Black Law Student Association and has been active in the Las Vegas Alumni Chapter of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He received his B.S. from Washington University and his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law.
