Follow on Google News | Arts Unbound to Open Showcase in the Heart of Maplewood VillageArts Unbound gallery exhibits fine art and craft made by students, emerging and established artists living with disabilities and seniors.
By: Arts Unbound "We are so excited to offer the community a complement to our existing gallery in the Valley Arts District in Orange," shared Arts Unbound board chair Susan Young. The gallery will continue to mount an average of nine fine art exhibits a year, while the showcase in Maplewood will feature a revolving collection of artwork. Arts Unbound founder and long-time South Orange resident Cate Lazen is equally enthusiastic about this extension of the organization she founded fifteen years ago. "I am so proud to be part of this community," Cate said when asked about this upcoming endeavor. Arts Unbound is dedicated to the artistic achievement of people living with mental, physical and developmental disabilities and seniors. They provide visual arts education and professional development to help emerging artists compete in the retail market. By promoting the work of artists with disabilities and seniors, they focus on their art-making rather than any impairments, and by doing so challenge the stigma associated with disability and aging. Artists seeking to be included in the showcase should contact Celene Ryan at 973-475-8446. www.artsunbound.org (Arts Unbound – tel:973-675- End
