Broadway musicals of the early 20 th Century include George M. Cohan’s “Little Johnny Jones,” the hit 1919 book musical “Apple Blossoms,” and the book and lyrics to “The Ziegfeld Follies of 1919.” British musicals are represented including ground breaking musicals from the Gaiety Theatre and Drury Lane. When these musicals were first produced, their vocal scores were readily published and made available to the public. However their librettos were unavailable and most were only available in manuscript.
