Learning new things at the workplace is imperative, but being a jack of all will not help you in developing your strengths. Strengths are developed by discovering what you enjoy working on and consistently putting efforts to develop it. Analyse Your Strengths

You know your strengths when you have a few years of work experience in your industry. When you explore different domains to work in your field, then you get to know what you enjoy doing the most. It is required to analyse in depth not only about your strengths but also your weaknesses. This can be done with the help of reputed career advisors who can guide you in an apt way. There are different psychology test available online which are designed to give an outcome of your strong traits accurately. You can take up multiple tests and analyse results. Note down the leading disciplines in these results. Also, pen down the projects which you feel you did perfectly and you enjoyed as well in your previous jobs. There may be some tasks which you did well but don\’t want to pursue it anymore in the future, strike out such tasks from the list. Draw an inference based on this whole analysis and make two separate lists of top 5 weaknesses and strengths at work. You can take a feedback from your colleagues and boss on what they think you are strong at. This whole process will help you in narrowing down your strengths and liking.

Look For a Platform
Once you know your strengths, the next step is to find a platform to make it stronger. Search for the projects in your firm which gives you an opportunity to work upon those areas which give you pleasure to give your efforts. Explore the extra responsibilities in other departments of your organization or work on freelance projects. Besides all this, it is important to keep a self-belief and plan ahead in your career by exploring the possibilities in the same field.
