LONG BEACH, Calif. - Aug. 4, 2015 - PRLog -- August 3, 2015 – Long Beach, CA – The Long Beach City FC (3-2-4) (www.longbeachcityfc.com) scored a Dramatic 3-2 victory over Industry FC (UPSL) on Sunday night at Basset Park in La Puente, CA. Long Beach City FC recent signing Lorenzo Vargas opened his goal scoreing account at Long Beach City netting two goals after getting subbed in to the match in the 75 minute.

Long Beach City FC had to work hard on this match as they were facing a young and talented Industry FC. The Citizens had it tough being that they let go of several opportunities and were denied by the crossbar in the early minutes of the match. The missed opportunities came back to haunt them when Industry took advantage of the open space to get the ball in the net in minute 12 and minute 29 to give the home side the 2-0 lead at half.

The second half for the Citizens was very intense being that they had to fight twice as hard to get back in the game. Long Beach City FC Forward Angel Ayala was denied 3 times by the Industry FC Goalkeeper who had an outstanding night until the citizens brought in Forward Lorenzo Vargas in the 75 minute.

In the 77 minute, Ayala sent in a perfect Cross from right side to a well positioned Vargas who hit the ball mid air into the net to get the Long Beach City FC back in the game 2-1. Short after the goal, the citizens were up on momentum. In the 82 minute, midfielder Erik Carbajal drived the ball to an open Manuel Espinoza who then took the ball and slammed it in the box where Long Beach City FC defender Ryan Gonzalez trapped the ball perfectly then striked it into the back of the net to give Long Beach City the equalizer. Long Beach City kept the pressure and momentum up which helped them get a 3rd and final goal in the 88 minute where Midfielder Manuel Espinoza sent the ball over to Forward Alvin Ballesteros who then flicked it over Industry FC defense for an on rushing Vargas who buried the ball in the net to give him his 2nd goal of the night.

Long Beach City Head Coach Miguel Herrera stated, “The boys did what they had to do to get the win. Industry is a strong side but did not expect us to give them a hard time the last 15 minutes of the game. They let their guard down and we took advantage. If you are a Long Beach City FC Fan and were out there supporting us, you definitely played the 12th man role perfect. Thank you for coming out.”
