Follow on Google News | Seventh Annual Rope for a CureAmarillo Range Riders is raising funds at their seventh annual Rope for a Cure event to support research and local kids with Type 1 Diabetes
By: Diabetes Foundation of the High Plains Funds raised from the event benefits the Diabetes Foundation of the High Plains to help fund research for finding a cure and help send children in the Texas Panhandle to specialized camps for children with Type 1 Diabetes. Rope for a Cure is a family friendly event open to all ages. During the event, Roping Schools are available for those interested in learning how to rope, and roping competitions will be held for both amateurs and professionals. Tickets for the event are on sale now. To purchase tickets, call JT Haynes at (806) 681-3421 or Jamie Haynes at (806) 681-3647. On Saturday, August 8, the Cowboy Ball Dinner will take place with great food, live music, and a silent auction. Last year’s Cowboy Ball was sold out, so make sure to order tickets ahead of time. Tickets for the Cowboy Ball Dinner are available for purchase through Jerry Don Thompson at (806) 681-3172. A raffle ticket drawing will also be held at the event for $4,000 in granite countertops from AdobeWalls Stonework and a John Deere Gator from Western Equipment, valued at $19,000. All proceeds will benefit the Diabetes Foundation of the High Plains for research for a cure and towards sending local children diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes to specialized camps.
