Tulsa Children's Chorus Enters 25th Anniversary Season with 2015 Annual Fall Kick-Off

TULSA, Okla. - Aug. 3, 2015 - PRLog -- Tulsa Children’s Chorus begins its 25th Anniversary Season with their Annual Fall Kick-Off on August 29 from 9am - 2pm at Boston Avenue United Methodist Church. "Each year, the chorus welcomes its members back - along with interested new singers - at the Fall Kick-Off where music, art and friends are made," says chorus Artistic Director, Ashlee Elmore. Any child in grades 3 - 12 is invited to register for this FREE event online at www.tulsachildrenschorus.org/events.

Marking its 25th year as Oklahoma’s premier children’s chorus, the Tulsa Children’s Chorus is planning a commemorative season to celebrate its prosperity and rich history, including a 25th Anniversary Concert in June 2016 that will feature our current singers along with alumni. The organization's founding director, Ginny LeDoux, will make a special guest conductor appearance alongside its current Artistic Director. This year’s 25th Anniversary Fall Kick-Off will include a choral workshop, artistic activities including the design of our 25th Anniversary banner, lunch, an ice cream sundae bar and a concluding concert for parents at 1:45pm. Interested singers do not need previous musical experience to participate and will be given a vocal assessment on-site for their eligibility to participate in the chorus’ 2015-2016 season.

Oursingers recently completedtheir 2014-2015 season with numerous public appearances to nearly 30,000 people from around the Tulsa-metro area and beyond. These performances includedTulsa Oilers, Utica Square Lights On, Guthrie Green, a combined concert with the African Children’s Choir, a tour to St. Louis through a collaborative performance with the St. Louis Children’s Choirs andthe repeated first place victory at the Heartland Music Festival at the University of Central Oklahoma.

Additional opportunities offered throughout the 25th Anniversary Season will include participation in Circle the State with Song, Children’s All-State and the OMEA All-State Honor Choir, with an expected appearance as a featured honors chorus at the Oklahoma Music Educators Association WinterConference in January.
