Human Trafficking Expert Speaks to Texas Association of Licensed Investigators Conference

SAN ANTONIO - Aug. 3, 2015 - PRLog -- The annual conference sponsored by the Texas Association of Licensed Investigators (TALI) (http://www.tali.org/) will be held from August 24-August 27, 2015 at the Wyndham Riverwalk in San Antonio. The theme of the 2015 conference is Pursuit of Excellence and features sessions addressing forensics, business, and investigations with various speakers and instructors.

Dottie Laster (http://dottielaster.com/), CEO of Laster Global Consulting and Executive Director of San Antonio’s Heidi Search Center (http://heidisearchcenter.com/), will address participants on August 27 on the topic of Human Trafficking: What Happens Post Recovery.

Founded in 1971, TALI is steeped in history and continues to be the pace-setter for the private investigation industry. With more than 600 members world-wide TALI is dedicated to raising professionalism in the field of private investigations through continuing education, public awareness, advanced certification, networking and legislative involvement.

Through the years of her career rescuing and restoring hundreds of victims of human trafficking, Dottie Laster has become well-known among  private investigators across the country. In her new position as Heidi Search Center’s Executive Director she is able to bring her years of experience to the intersection of missing persons and human trafficking.

Dottie Laster spent the last 12 years in the effort of the anti-human trafficking movement nationally, and in her home state of Texas. She is the co-founder of the San Antonio, Texas Coalition Against Human Trafficking and the past Administrator of the Orange County, California Human Trafficking Task Force and has successfully written millions in grants to assist children and victims of human trafficking. Along with her position at Heidi Search Center, Laster is the Anti-Trafficking Coordinator with the Bernardo Kohler Center (http://bernardokohler.org/) as an accredited representative recognized by the Bureau of Immigration Appeals to practice immigration law under BKC.

Laster is featured in the documentary on sex trafficking in Latin bars and cantinas, The Cantinera (http://imaginepublicity.com/clients/the-cantinera-documen...), and her direct rescue work is the subject of the MSNBC Documentary, Sex Slaves: Texas Rescue.
