Aug. 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Formerly known as Trafficking In America Task Force (TIATF) and now under their new name of Network for Cultural Change, NCC has partnered with Chosen Advocates Associates and will forego their 2015 annual national conference to support the Project Restoration Hope Fest and Human Trafficking Summit in Denver, CO.

When Yvonne Williams, NCC President spoke with Angela Sandoval-Graf, RN and founder of CAA about their mission to provide clinical treatment to children victims of forced SEX TRAFFICKING in Colorado she was eager to agree to partner with the NGO for their 2015 Human Trafficking Summit. “TIATF had invested a trip to Denver a few weeks earlier to scope the area for their 2015 National Conference so rather than hold two like events the organizations chose to work together.

CAA will build the first Research Human Trafficking (HT) Healing Center specialized in treating the multifaceted medical conditions (HT) patients suffer with to begin the rehabilitation phase of healing.

Graf says, “We intend on designing and implementing a strong evidenced based curricula from the data collected on the effectiveness of specialized holistic treatments. The data collection process from this project will assist in identifying areas of improvement with the multidisciplinary healthcare clinicians approaches and will contribute with producing superior educational resources to implement best practices for treating HT patients as a whole person focused on the body (physiological), mind (emotional and psychological), and spirit (interfaith spiritual necessities for healing).

Lindsey Anton, one of the many expert speakers at the HT Summit said, "What CAA is putting into motion - a full service, client-centered medical rehab center that addresses not just the physical body, but the heart and spirit as well is absolutely a dream come true for advocates who have been searching for a place like this to refer to clients and it will certainly be a blessing to every client that enters through the doors. I hope CAA and its work can be a model for communities in the nation and an inspiration to hearts on fire for the eradication of human trafficking."

It was reported during an FBI press release on June 23, 2014 that there were 18 children rescued and 11 pimps arrested in Colorado during the annual FBI Innocence lost string operation. With the news that Colorado is experiencing human trafficking, was moved to organize a national summit that will kick-off on Friday, September 11th, 2015 at the Infinity Park Event Center in Denver.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, human trafficking has become the second fastest growing criminal industry — just behind drug trafficking — with children accounting for roughly half of all victims-USA Today- 1/22/2012. Many advocates believe it is now the #1 crime in America.

The series of events from September 10th through September 13th, 2015 under a project umbrella called “Festival Weekend” include a Denver area community awareness promotion that will culminate in the start of Festival Weekend on Thursday, September 10th. The National Summit conference will take place on September 11th, 2015. The summit addresses the Human Trafficking (HT) issues locally in CO and in our nation’s communities, current research, and resources. A Project Restoration Expo will be incorporated into the Summit event with vendors and exhibitors from across the state and nation to give attendees a vast array of resources and education.

One of Williams’ roles was to help formulate the agenda. Some of the key speakers and topics will include: Susan Norris, Author of Rescuing Hope; Jerome Elam, HT Survivor and Advocate, Human Trafficking Realization – hidden secret of HT boys exposed; Laura Lederer, JD President of Global Centurion. Lederer, Former Senior Advisor on Trafficking, U.S. Department of State, Physiological Implications of HT Victims- Health Consequences of Sex Trafficking & Implications for Identifying Victims; Heather Davis, Founder Mothers Against Human Trafficking; Dwyane and Terry Meeks, (UCAM) Family Reunification; Yvonne Williams, Co-Founder and President of Network for Cultural Change (formerly Trafficking in America Task Force), How to Prevent Human Trafficking Through Cultural Change; Greg Bristol, Founder (HTTI) Law Enforcement officers; and many more.
