ATLANTA - July 31, 2015 - PRLog -- Michelle Bolden is looking forward to bringing her nursing background and passion for providing excellent care to her new business, Home Helpers and Direct Link of Atlanta.

Home Helpers is the nation’s leading franchise specializing in comprehensive home care for seniors, new mothers and individuals needing recuperative and continuing assistance. Direct Link is its proprietary line of 24/7 medical alert systems, including a fall sensor, automated medication dispenser and vital signs monitoring units.

Home Helpers and Direct Link of Atlanta has been in operation for seven years, but Bolden just bought the franchise this year. The company serves Buckhead, Decatur, Midtown, Downtown, Virginia Highland, Vinings, Little Five Points, Brookhaven, North Lake and the surrounding communities.

Before launching her business, Bolden, who is an RN with an MBA, worked in a variety of healthcare positions, including pediatrics, clinical work, home care and administration. She also spent time working for the state where she helped determine the number of nursing hours patients needed after discharge.

“My experience – especially my work with the state – really influenced my decision to open my own non-medical in-home care business because it showed me the impact and true need of quality in-home care,” Bolden said. “I’m looking forward to being a resource that can help people live safely and comfortably in their own homes for as long as possible.”

Bolden quit her last job in 2014 when her dad got sick and needed her help. He lived in Chicago and required 24/7 care, but he wanted to stay at home. Bolden said that working with her dad helped her understand what her clients will be facing.

“I’m glad that I was able to spend a summer in Chicago getting his care sorted out, but I think it changed the dynamic of our relationship. We weren’t father and daughter anymore – we were patient and caregiver. That’s something I hope we can help other families get through,” she said. “Our vision is to be a leader in non-medical care by providing excellent service with our passionate caregivers. We are here to work with individuals or entire families, whether everyone is local or living across the country.”

Home Helpers and Direct Link offers free in-home consultations and works with each client to create a flexible, affordable care plan based on a person’s individual needs. Services offered include companionship, laundry, light housekeeping, respite care, meal preparation and transportation as well as medication management and care management. Home Helpers and Direct Link of Atlanta also offers “Perk Up and Turn Down” services, which means they’ll come in and help people get ready for the day or prepare them for bed.

Each individual client receives services tailored to meet their specific needs by caregivers who become an extension of their family. Home Helpers’ full-range of home care services empower clients to live healthier and more rewarding lives in the privacy, safety, and comfort of their own homes.
