FRESNO, Calif. - July 31, 2015 - PRLog -- TULARE – The Tulare County Fair Foundation’s Cattle Drive is under way, with donations of dairy cows and beef animals accepted at Tulare Sales Yard, Martella Livestock Market and Visalia Livestock Market.

Proceeds will help fund new pens, used by 4H and FFA students showing their livestock. For information, contact Rick Faria, 905-5811 or Pamela Fyock at the Fairgrounds, 686-4707.

The Foundation will also benefit from the Fair’s second annual kick-off rodeo at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12. Gates open at 5 p.m.

Tickets are available online at www.tcfair.org for $10 per person if purchased before the event date or $13 per person at the gate. VIP passes are available for $65 per person, which includes preferred seating, refreshments and dinner.

The sanctioned California Cowboy Professional Rodeo Association event includes top California professional cowboys. It will feature eight events plus a “Locals Only” event with a $1,000 purse for the winning team. Events include team roping, breakaway roping, barrel racing, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, saddle bronc riding and bareback riding.

A dance begins immediately after the rodeo featuring local country-western band Branded Heart. Rodeo admission is required.

All proceeds from the cattle drive and rodeo benefit the Tulare County Fair Foundation, the nonprofit organization working to improve the fairgrounds.

“The community support for last year’s fair was so encouraging, but there remains much work to be done on the fairgrounds,” said Foundation Board chairman Geneva Shannon. “We hope that residents countywide step up and support these fundraisers – and come enjoy a great Fair!”

The Tulare County Fair, Sept. 16-20, offers nightly concerts on the Budweiser Stage; free-with-admission exhibits and shows, including wild animals, fun with science, acrobats, and the nightly hypnotist show.

Gate admission is $8 for adults; $5 for children ages 6-12. Seniors 62 and older are admitted for $5 on Senior Day, Thursday, Sept. 18 from 9 a.m. to noon, sponsored by Humana, Inc. Military Appreciation Day is Thursday, with $6 admission to active duty military with ID.

The fair will also offer the annual Heifer Replacement Sale and Junior Livestock Auction, new food booths, the Destruction Derby, a tractor pull, fun rides and more. Visit www.tcfair.org for ongoing updates to the schedule of events.
