INDIANAPOLIS - July 30, 2015 - PRLog -- Trace Beaulieu will be speaking about his career in media with a focus on his experience as a puppeteer at GEN CON. He will also be promoting the new puppet-based web series "VERMIN" and the crowd-funding campaign to support it on Kickstarter.

About VERMIN

Vermin is a comedy web series featuring Trace Beaulieu and a cast of puppet rats (supplied by Minneapolis-based Puppet Forge) working their day jobs at the mysterious Placeholder Laboratories. Test subject Ralph Raight (pronounced “rat”), gets an intellect boost and is subsequently promoted to middle management. Soon Ralph starts to notice things about the lab that nobody else sees. Even his boss, Sam Lodgepole (played by MST3K star Trace Beaulieu).

“This is the same creative team behind (the award winning web series) Transylvania Television,” said Beaulieu, “In the back of my head I was thinking how much fun it would be to work with these folks. They seemed to have tapped into a very crazy, fun, funhouse form of TV making that reminded me of the days of MST3K.”

Beaulieu’s character, one of only three humans in the cast, is a legitimate but harried research scientist unlike his previous role, Dr. Forrester, on Mystery Science Theatre 3000.

“Forrester was an inept evil scientist bent on ruling the world,” claims Beaulieu, “I think Sam just wants to make it through his day. He might be a pretty good scientist but he is more than likely a bit burned out and tired of the lab. Unless someone brings him bagels.”

The first three episodes of VERMIN Series One are the centerpiece of the Kickstarter campaign. Modest stretch goals will allow the producers to advance through episode seven and conclude Series One also unlocking special additions such as other celebrity cameo appearances.

Campaign donors can expect a wide array of incentives for pledging including autographed photos,  their very own rat puppet from the same patterns used for the show, and even a lunch date with Trace Beaulieu himself. Other exclusive rewards will include lunch on-set with the cast, lab rat character naming rights, and “associate producer” credits on the series.

The official hashtag for VERMIN on all social media is #VerminShow.
