NEWPORT COAST, Calif. - July 30, 2015 - PRLog -- On Saturday, Aug. 1, Crystal Cove Alliance (CCA) (http://www.crystalcovealliance.org/) will open individual ticket sales to its 13th annual “Moonlight Gala (http://www.crystalcovealliance.org/gala)” to be held Saturday, Sept. 26, at Crystal Cove.  The signature event, presented by The Resort at Pelican Hill, sells out each year as supporters celebrate the organization’s dedication to the protection and preservation of the cultural, natural and historic resources of Crystal Cove State Park (http://www.crystalcovestatepark.org/).

Funds generated at the annual gala enable CCA to provide programs and services to community members, at little or no cost. In addition to its well-known preservation of the park’s historic cottages, CCA’s innovative education programs and experiences promote science and environmental literacy for adults and students across Orange County.

“Our annual gala is the most highly anticipated event of the year and is vital to generating the funds needed to continue our mission of developing and operating unique educational programs, restoring the remaining 17 cottages and preserving Crystal Cove State Park for future generations,” said Laura Davick, CCA founder and director of external affairs. “We are delighted to welcome guests to a spectacular evening under the stars, and are grateful for their generosity and continuous support year after year.”

Attendees will enjoy a breathtaking sunset view from the bluff top overlooking Crystal Cove, and a five-star alfresco dining experience catered by The Resort at Pelican Hill (https://www.pelicanhill.com/). The chance to win a three-night stay in sought-after Crystal Cove Cottage #14, a spacious, two-story beachfront cottage, will tempt guests to enter the opportunity drawing. The event will also feature live entertainment by Brenna Whitaker and luxury live and silent auctions. With a history of sold-out galas, and many tables claimed by generous sponsors, interested community members are encouraged to purchase their 2015 Moonlight Gala tickets as soon as possible.

Nestled between Laguna Beach and Newport Beach sit the stunning beaches and dramatic bluffs of Crystal Cove State Park. The park encompasses 3.2 acres of coastline, 2,400 acres of backcountry and 1,100 acres of underwater park. CCA, in partnership with Crystal Cove State Park, part of California State Parks, preserves the natural resources, culture and history of the cove. CCA’s Science and Nature at the Park (SNAP!) program, a part of its Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) education program, now reaches more than 50,000 individuals annually through innovative programs, online resources and social media campaigns.

Opportunities for sponsoring or underwriting the gala are still available and range from $5,000 to $50,000. About Crystal Cove Alliance

Crystal Cove Alliance (CCA), the official nonprofit partner of Crystal Cove State Park, is dedicated to preserving the cultural, natural and historic resources of Crystal Cove. Founded in 1999 by Laura Davick to stop a planned luxury resort from overtaking the area, CCA rescued the historic site and initiated one of the most successful public-private partnership models in the history of the California State Park system.

Today, CCA has expanded its focus to include all 3.2 miles of pristine coastline, more than 3,700 acres of backcountry habitat and 1,100 acres offshore in the Underwater Park. CCA has turned Crystal Cove into a laboratory for developing innovative educational programs and experiences that promote science and environmental literacy to more than 1.5 million visitors and students each year.  CCA’s conservation work insures access by a range of recreational enthusiasts while maintaining protection of critical habitat and protecting endangered and threatened species.

The partnership between Crystal Cove State Park and the Crystal Cove Alliance has led to the renovation of 29 historic beachfront cottages now open for overnight stays, as well as historic education programs designed for the public. CCA is proud of the park receiving the prestigious 2007 Governor’s Award for Historic Preservation. A leader in fundraising, restoration, education and concession services, CCA is devoted to creating a sustainable future for Crystal Cove. Seventeen historic cottages remain to be restored.
