First Annual Rhodes Fest Concert

OXNARD, Calif. - July 30, 2015 - PRLog -- On Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015 at 8 p.m., the first annual RHODES FEST concert will feature a spectacular lineup of prominent keyboard players and top artists synonymous with the Rhodes sound. On stage, at the state-of-the-art Oxnard College Performing Arts Center, will be Grammy winning artists Lalah Hathaway, Jeff Lorber, Robert Glasper, Larry Dunn, multi-nominated Grammy artist Patrice Rushen and more.

“I’m proud to celebrate the Rhodes piano,” said Gerald McCauley, producer of RHODES FEST and “Down The Rhodes: The Fender Rhodes Story” documentary. “It’s an american instrument that is a significant part of our music history and cherished worldwide. Our goal is to make Rhodes Fest 2015 an unforgettable experience.”

Additional featured artists are Rodney Franklin, Mark de Clive-Lowe, Frank McComb, Greg Phillinganes and Kandace Springs. Special guest performances by Terrace Martin, Take 6, Sheléa, Butterscotch, Stokley Williams, Natalie Cadet, Kenneth Crouch, Eric Marienthal, Antonique Smith, Trina Broussard, Rahsaan Patterson and others.

Tickets can be purchased via inTicketing.com with general seating tickets priced at $40 and $60 and handicap seating at $25.

RHODES FEST 2015 benefits the Rhodes Scholars Scholarship — a music and arts education initiative in the spirit of Harold Rhodes who invented the Rhodes electric piano. More than just a scholarship, Rhodes Scholars recipients are linked with music industry professionals for mentorship and guidance.
