Rady School of Management at UC San Diego Hosts Summer Institute for Emerging Managers and Leader

SAN DIEGO - July 30, 2015 - PRLog -- The Rady School of Management at UC San Diego will host the 2015 Summer Institute for Emerging Managers and Leaders (SIEML) August 2 to August 14, 2015. The Summer Institute is an all-expenses-paid, career-building fellowship for 25, first-year students from historically black colleges and universities and Hispanic-serving institutions across the U.S. The program is in part made possible by the partnership of corporate sponsors.

Summer Institute fellows will participate in an intensive two-week program, offered for two successive summers and designed to expose them to valuable educational and career-building opportunities. The fellows will learn from UC graduate business school faculty, attend hands-on workshops aimed at business development and entrepreneurship, and learn analytical, technical and management skills. Fellows will also have the opportunity to participate in career building activities such as professional networking events, gain exposure to internship opportunities, and meet with CEOs, CFOs and other industry leaders.

“The Rady School of Management is proud to be the host of the 2015 SIEML, an exceptional opportunity for developing the diverse talent of the future,” said Rady School Dean Robert S. Sullivan. “The Rady School’s close connection to the local innovation ecosystem and history of startup successes will provide the student fellows with unique opportunities to learn about entrepreneurship, leadership and management.”

Founded in 2012, SIEML is a University of California system-wide initiative that rotates throughout the six UC participating business schools. This program showcases UC universities to talented students and introduces undergraduates to California-based businesses and economies.
