Wanda Alexis Alexander Conducts Inspiring Workshop at Inaugural 13th Man Summer Classic

LANSDOWNE, Va. - July 30, 2015 - PRLog -- Leadership development influencer Wanda Alexis Alexander gave the workshop entitled ‘It’s Already in There” to 42 young men who participated in the inaugural 13th Man Summer Classic this past weekend. Held at the Greenbelt Marriot, the event was hosted by The 13^th Man, a non-profit geared toward equipping young men for success through leadership development, mentoring and applying the fundamentals of team play in daily decision making.

The 13^th Man was founded by serial entrepreneur E. Davon Kelly, who sponsored the young men, ages 12 to 17, to attend. The organization brought in 16 leading businessmen and women to offer insights and lessons learned on topics ranging from financial responsibility to conflict resolution.

“Last year, I developed my dream into a non-profit organization that will equip young men for success through leadership development.” states E. Davon Kelly, serial entrepreneur and founder of The 13^th Man. “Next year, we will engage the participants in team sports along with classroom activities.” he concludes.

As a long-time mentor to E. Davon Kelly, Alexander opened the event with a speech stating “Who you are going to become, is already inside of you…” Other panelists spoke on a variation of topics ranging from deportation to best practices when dealing with law enforcement and even creating a successful life after being imprisoned.

“I truly count it an honor to have had the opportunity to pour into such a bright group of young men,” Alexander states. “I mean, I’ve watched Davon flourish not only as an entrepreneur, but as a true leader and this organization further demonstrates his desire to reach back and make a lasting impact on the next generation.”

The kick-off was marked by a trip to a Washington Nationals game and followed by a weekend of activities and speaker sessions. One of the attendees, shares his experience below:

“One of the many things I liked about this seminar was how the presenters… interacted with us, they let us know what was going on and… I like how they let us know that whatever we’re looking for in life was already inside of us.” states De’Jeune, 13 year old participant in the conference.
