Sara Lord named McGladrey's National Director of Assurance Services

CHICAGO - July 30, 2015 - PRLog -- Sara Lord, a partner in McGladrey's National Professional Standards Group, was selected as the firm's new National Director of Assurance Services to be effective August 1, 2015.

"Sara is deeply grounded in professional standards, and consistently thinks about how new standards and firm policies impact our auditors in the field,” said Jim Morton, McGladrey's National Assurance Leader. “She takes the time to listen to engagement teams as they sort through challenging audit issues and then thoughtfully develops responsive guidance, practice aids and/or training as appropriate. Sara has made significant innovative contributions to the improvement in audit quality within our firm."

In this new role, Lord will be responsible for the firm’s methodologies, guidance, and training for all assurance services. She replaces John Keyser, who will be leaving the firm to pursue his PhD in accounting.

Lord joined McGladrey (http://www.mcgladrey.com/)'s National Professional Standards Group as a partner in Oct. 2012. She has 17 years of experience in public accounting serving both public and private companies. She spent the majority of her career with Deloitte, where she worked in assurance services, participating in the national office management development program and focusing in the global regulatory and public policy area.

Lord recently served as a member of the Private Company Practice Section Technical Issues Committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and has been involved in various Center for Audit Quality committees. She obtained her Bachelor of Accountancy degree from the University of North Dakota.
