iWave announces i.MX6UL SODIMM SOM

BANGALORE, India - July 29, 2015 - PRLog -- At Freescale Technology Forum (FTF America), iWave's new i.MX6UL SODIMM SOM (iW-RainboW-G18M-SODIMM) was unveiled. The i.MX6 UltraLite (i.MX6UL) SoC is latest low-power, Cortex A7 based SoC by Freescale aimed at very low power cost optimized applications.

At compact size (67.6 x 29mm), the iW-RainboW-G18M-SODIMM (http://www.iwavesystems.com/product/cpu-modules/imx6-ul-sodimm-module/imx6-ul-sodimm-module.html) integrates plenty of features. The i.MX6UL module is equipped with 256MB of DDR3 RAM, which is expandable upto 1GB. 256MB of NAND flash is supported on the SOM which is also expandable. Other memory possibilities include optional eMMC and QSPI flash and an optional microSD slot.

Dual Fast Ethernet PHY is supported on the SOM. But if one of the Ethernet PHY is sacrificed, one can get additional three more UARTs, a 4×4 keypad, or an RMII interface. All the IO peripheral interfaces supported by i.MX6 UL SOC is available via the 200 pin SODIMM edge connector.

The i.MX6UL SOM module will be available in both commercial (0 to +70°C) and industrial (-40 to +85°C) temperature grades. iW-RainboW-G18M-SODIMM SOM is one of the early adopters of the PF3000 PMIC for the i.MX6UL SOC.

The SOM is intended for various applications including but not limited to Industrial HMI, Access Control, Mobile POS, IOT Gateway, Wearable devices, secure e-commerce, Energy management, Industrial Control & automation, Medical & Healthcare devices, White goods & Smart appliances.
