Sales Educators' Academy Holds 4th Annual Event

Academy is sponsored by the Sales Education Foundation, hosted by Florida State University and Rollins College

DAYTON, Ohio - July 28, 2015 - PRLog -- The 4th annual Sales Educators’ Academy (SEA) was held recently at Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. This annual event is sponsored by the Sales Education Foundation (SEF). Working with Florida State University and Rollins College, the academy seeks to help sales educators of all experience levels improve their ability to teach sales students the skills and knowledge needed upon graduating from business school.  The academy is not a traditional conference, but features a hand-on approach to each of the three day sessions.

The unique concept was developed by Leff Bonney, Ph.D., from Florida State University, Greg Marshall, Ph.D., and Mark Johnston, Ph.D., from Rollins College. According to Leff Bonney, "The SEA 2015 program was a huge success with record level attendance.  The Sales Education Foundation has been an incredible partner in the SEA program. We couldn’t do it without the great people at SEF. Whether its providing funding for doctoral student scholarships or bringing world-class speakers to Orlando, the SEF has always stepped up to support the Sales Educators’ Academy program. We are looking forward to continuing to work with the Foundation on future SEA events and can’t wait to see what we accomplish next time.”

The featured guest speaker at the first day's lunch was Dan Weinfurter, CEO of the newly formed company GrowthPlay. GrowthPlay addresses a pressing market need to help businesses achieve better results by improving the sales capabilities and performance of front line and customer facing staff. GrowthPlay recently acquired Chally Group Worldwide, SEF’s main sponsor. During Dan’s informal talk, he focused on GrowthPlay’s commitment to the SEF and its mission.

An evening cocktail hour at the close of day one was sponsored by the SEF. Dinner featured keynote speaker, Neil Rackham. Rackham's writing focuses on “consultative selling,” an approach he pioneered in his best-selling book, SPIN Selling. Rackham also sponsors the SEF/Neil Rackham Research Grant Program, a joint venture with SEF that awards annual research grants to top academics conducting sales-specific research.
