Scheduled for eBook release in late-2015, it will be available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and other leading book retailers. Synopsis:A young couple sails to Catalina Island for a dream wedding. The bride’s uncle has lent them his new 40’ motor boat.

Dillon and Lane are surprised and pleased when Lane’s Uncle Jim offers them the use of his new 40’ Chris Craft for their trip to Catalina Island, and honeymoon cruise to San Diego’s Mission Bay. Uncle Jim is a Rear Admiral in the U.S. Navy, and a father figure to Lane and her two sisters. The couple sails to Catalina Island for their wedding accompanied by one of Lane’s sisters and brother in law, husband. The remainder of their small family on both sides joins them for a fun weekend which culminates in a Saturday evening wedding. Unbeknownst to Lane and Dillon, Uncle Jim plans to have the newlyweds drop him off on the north side of nearby San Clemente Island on their voyage to Mission Bay. Lane and Dillon reluctantly agree feeling guilty over his generosity.

After delivering Uncle Jim to San Clemente Island, the newlyweds slowly motor south along the isolated coast of the Naval owned island and away from where the Naval base is located. An instant’s unplanned event knocks them both off of the boat and into the water. Unprepared and with the boat in gear, Dillon manages to get them both to shore, as the Chris Craft heads ghostly towards Mexican waters. Working together to find food and shelter, Dillon and Lane spend 4 days on the Island. In the evening of the last day, they find a hysterical young woman calling and searching for her Australian boyfriend. The two were camping illegally on the beach, while the Sailboat they were crewing was anchored nearby.

Dillon and Lane soon become embroiled in an international conspiracy, unexplained death, political and naval corruption, kick-backs and missing persons.

“Death of the Island Fox is intricately plotted, with a compelling cast of characters that slowly ratchets the tension,” said Kathie McGuire, director of Brighton Publishing LLC. “This book is without question, a work that showcases the incredible literary talent of the author.”

R.J. Poliquin is a senior project manager in Las Vegas, Nevada, and has been intimately involved in the construction of many of the strip’s premier projects.

He grew up on the beaches of southern California, surfing, diving, and generally enjoying all water sports. For a few years he spent the summer on Catalina Island, one of California’s Channel Islands. RJ is married with two grown children and two unruly cats. His family moved to Nevada eighteen years ago when his house became too small, the kids too large and work in California slowed down. Missing the ocean, he now gets a water fix by kayaking in the Colorado River or standup paddling in Lake Las Vegas.

RJ is an award winning hardware designer, twice capturing first place in the prestigious Doug Mockett design contest.
