It is the first accreditation awarded to SalusCare since the company was formed in 2013 from the merger of Lee Mental Health and Southwest Florida Addiction Services (SWFAS). The accreditation decision from CARF represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization’ “This achievement is an indication of your organization’ The following programs received accreditation for both children and adults: residential treatment, day treatment, outpatient treatment, crisis intervention, crisis stabilization and detoxification. In addition, court treatment for adults with alcohol and other addictions was accredited. “We are very pleased to receive our first three-year accreditation from CARF since the formation of SalusCare in 2013. It is quite an achievement in just two short years and reflects the dedication and commitment of our more than 400 employees led by President/CEO Kevin Lewis in responding to the needs of patients and our community with respect to mental health and substance use-related issues. These issues touch many of our lives as well as friends and families, and SalusCare strives to offer timely and effective services to more than 17,000 people annually,” said SalusCare Board Chair Marshall T. SalusCare, Inc., is the largest, most comprehensive mental health and substance abuse treatment program in Southwest Florida, serving more than 17,000 adults and children per year. SalusCare provides services from seven locations in Lee County, including walk-in assessment centers in Fort Myers and Cape Coral. SalusCare services are not free. Payment plans are available and, in many cases, private insurance may cover some of the cost of treatment. Many prevention and treatment services are partially supported by Lee County and state funding to help income-eligible residents. SalusCare is a United Way partner agency.
