Jacksonville Beach Phone Scam Investigation Begins

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - July 27, 2015 - PRLog -- The Jacksonville Beach Police Department is currently investigating an ongoing phone call scam.

According to police, multiple businesses in Jacksonville Beach received phone calls from a caller who says his name is Sean on Saturday.

The caller has an Irish accent, according to reports. He provides customer numbers or account numbers to potential victims when he calls. JBPD said he also refers to customers’ due dates from their bills.

Sean requests that business owners or residents go to Winn Dixie and get a reloadable card and then give him the card number.

Police said that if anyone attempts to question him, he would make threats to disconnect their service.

Jacksonville Beach Police Department would like to stress that Beaches Energy will never call and ask for money over the phone or ever go door to door regarding past due accounts.
