Vapor Ricon Expands Team to Facilitate New UK Venture

July 27, 2015 - PRLog -- Leading manufacturer of vehicle access lifts and ramps Vapor Ricon, part of the Wabtec Group, has expanded its team to place additional emphasis on bringing a new range of bus doors to the UK and European vehicle market.

Steve Bradley, 59, has joined Vapor Ricon as European Applications Engineer from his previous position at Alexander Dennis Ltd.  “Having worked in the bus and coach industry for the past 44 years I have seen many developments and changes, I could not give up an opportunity to work with the team at Vapor Ricon as they get set to revolutionise the bus door manufacturing market in the UK and Europe,” said Steve.

Vapor Ricon’s sister company Vapor USA are renowned for quality automatic bus and coach door systems and have imparted their knowledge and expertise with Vapor Ricon Europe to deliver an alternative supplier into the UK market.

The range now developed for the UK and Europe markets draws on over 50 years of transport door design experience and features glider and sliding door options.  Both offer a variety of controls that range from simple electro-mechanical devises to high capability microprocessor-based systems and both ranges are optimised to provide ease of installation and passenger comfort.

Steve’s experience in the industry has spanned many decades and as such he has seen the emphasis of bus manufacturing change dramatically.  “Importance is placed on ensuring the maximisation of fuel efficiency, which means all elements of the vehicle are taken into consideration.  In the body design itself material changes have been incorporated across the range of vehicles from mini to double decked buses to ensure they provide a rigorous and lightweight solution.  Door systems are a key consideration in this process and a quality door that can deliver optimal functionality whilst addressing important issues such as efficiency and comfort is of paramount importance during the construction of vehicles.”
