DELHI, India - July 27, 2015 - PRLog -- At the Digital India week earlier this month, Reliance Group Chairman Anil Ambani had laid out his vision of digital transformation of the country by introducing a next-gen content and cloud delivery network which would be implemented all across in the next one year.

That vision has got some impetus now as the group’s telecommunication arm, Reliance Communication announced the deployment of Cloud Xchange (Cloud X) nodes in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad which will span across to 11 cities in two-three years.

“Cloud X is changing the paradigm of Cloud Computing…The network must now undergo a profound transformation, from a static entity to a dynamic, intelligent, application- aware fabric that can support multiple traffic requirements, diverse geographies and flexible pricing models,” said Bill Barney, Chief Executive Officer, Reliance Communications (Enterprise) and Global Cloud Xchange.

Deployment of Cloud X Nodes will enhance the compute power storage currently accessible to government offices and departments by over 240 times, while amplifying the current high-speed storage six times over.

It was on July 1 this year that Anil Ambani had declared that Reliance Communication will achieve complete deployment of its game-changer next-gen content and cloud delivery network by the year end.

He had also stated that the group would scale up its Digital cloud and telecom infrastructure with an investment of Rs 10, 000 crore towards strengthening its cloud framework including networking requirements and self-provisioning of network resources and bandwidth-on-demand.

With 11 data centers and over 600,000 square feet of infrastructure setup across the country, Reliance Group is India’s largest provider of data center facilities backed by India’s largest terrestrial fiber network along with the world’s largest submarine cable infrastructure.

The group and its telecom subsidiary RCom lead India’s digital revolution and together provide the most vital framework of digital growth and expansion across the country.
