July 24, 2015 - PRLog -- The Tumor Susceptibility Gene 101 protein (TSG101), a component of the ESCRT-I trafficking complex, is involved in a number of fundamental cellular processes required for cell survival. Disruption of its normal function has been linked to tumorigenesis, and altered TSG101 expression is found in a variety of human cancers. In addition, there is much interest in TSG101-containing exosomes released from different tumors, representing a fascinating aspect of cancer biology and making TSG101 a potentially attractive biomarker.
