Cloud X Launches Anil Ambani’s Digital Ambitions

By: Reliance Group

July 24, 2015 - PRLog -- At the Digital India launch on July 1 this year, Anil Ambani had pitched his vision for tranforming India into a digital powerhouse. And now, the ball is set rolling as Reliance Group announced the pilot launch of their next-gen content and cloud delivery platform, Cloud X, in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

The innovation comes as a major push to enterprise cloud computing and would enable government establishments and offices to access power storage 240 times over and above the current holding capacity, while amplifying  high-speed storage to six times over the present capabilities. The game-changer part is that now enterprise networks will be able to host multi-tiered apps directly by themselves with an unbelievable average turnaround, down to as low as a few minutes.

In the words of Bill Barney, CEO RCom (Enterprise) and Global Cloud Xchange, "Cloud X is changing the paradigm of cloud computing. The network must now undergo a profound transformation, from a static entity to a dynamic, intelligent, applicationaware fabric that can support multiple traffic requirements, diverse geographies and flexible pricing models."

Mr. Ambani had also promised an investment of Rs 10,000 crore towards restructuring of the telecom and cloud sector along with five fully-operational Cloud Xchange points across the country by the year end.  The group will roll it out across 11 cities in a span of the next two to three years.

Over the past one year, RCom, along with Global Cloud Xchange has worked towards building a stronger infrastructure network that includes self-provisioning of network resources and bandwidth-on-demand.

Reliance Group is the largest data hub in India and has a supporting framework of 11 data centers (the most in India) linked to each other by India’s largest terrestrial fiber network and a sub-sea network that’s the largest in the world.
