LOS ANGELES - July 24, 2015 - PRLog -- The movie "Man Eating Plants," written, produced, and directed by Carl David Blake, has begun production and is now taking donations via www.carldavidblakeproductions.com. The Guinness World Record winning filmmaker is now directing a short documentary on wild edible plants.

Eight million people die of starvation each year when most are walking distance from wild edible plants!  Some people actually die on top of these edible plants that can save their lives! That's insane! “We're going to change this!” said Blake.

When Bill Gates said he wanted to put a personal computer (pc) on every desktop in the world, people thought he was crazy. Our goal is to put wild edible plants, many of which you can grow for free, on every kitchen table in the world. And with your help, we can do it!

There are over 2,000 species of wild edible plants in Los Angeles alone, yet most people here could not name one of them! The Native Americans and Mexicans consumed enormous varieties of wild plants, such as weeds, roots, herbs and spices, certain tree bark, flowers, berries, seeds, fruit, and even some insects. The Mexicans brought over hundreds of wild edible plants that were not indigenous to the United States, long before we were a country.

To bring this important message to you, Botanist Christopher Nyerges and fitness trainer and healthy chef Rona Lewis take you on a botanical journey. Christopher began to conduct Wild Food Outings in 1974, sponsored by the non-profit organization WTI.  Christopher has since co-founded the School of Self-Reliance, and has taught over 35,000 students in the last 40 years.

Rona has been seen and heard on KGO-TV in San Francisco, where she was a regular guest for fitness and healthy cooking, XETV in San Diego, WABC radio in New York and has been featured in Nebraska Bride, Avenue, Vibrance and Town & Country magazines.

“People think that wild edible plants are bad tasting. If prepared correctly, they can not only be nutritious, but great tasting as well.” Said Nyerges.

You can hear both Christopher and Rona bring the message to you on the crowd funding trailer: https://youtu.be/UojmIXzuu-I.

Blake said, "This movement has already started; we’re just accelerating it."

Let’s join together as conscious human beings and work a little bit more with Mother Nature. Spread the word.
