Elks Lodge in Bonita Springs to participate in Backpacks for Love

NAPLES, Fla. - July 23, 2015 - PRLog -- (BONITA SPRINGS, FL)  The Elks Lodge Bonita Springs will participate in Backpacks for Love when they donate 56 back packs filled with food and school supplies, as well as provide school uniforms to children in need on Wednesday, July 29^th at 10:00 a.m.  The donation will take place at Bonita Springs Assistance Office, 25300 Bernwood Dr., Unit 6 in Bonita Springs.  Children from Bonita Springs Elementary, Bonita Springs Middle School, Bonita Springs Charter School, Bonita Springs Preparatory & Fitness Academy, San Carlos Elementary, Rayma C. Page Elementary, San Carlos Middle School, Estero High School, and  Ft Myers High School will attend the event. “We are pleased and honoured that the Elks accepted our request to help out kids in our area who so desperately need help preparing and entering school this year,” said Bonita Springs Assistance Office President and Executive Director Marjorie Kassell-Johnson.  “This is a huge help to these kids and allows them to start school with greater self-esteem and readiness.”

For over 35 years the mission of Bonita Springs Assistance Office, a United Way partner agency, has been to provide temporary relief to local residents impacted by a financial or personal crisis.  The goal is to foster independence and self-reliance through education and by bridging the financial needs of the recipients.  In addition to a food choice pantry, BSAO provides money management classes and referrals to other social service organizations who may be better served in answering clients’ needs. They are located at 25300 Bernwood Drive in Bonita Springs.
