SoulStones Launches Kickstarter Campaign to Fund its Hand-crafted, Porcelain Worry Stones

RYE, N.Y. - July 22, 2015 - PRLog -- High school student Conner Sexton has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund his SoulStones project. SoulStones are hand-crafted, porcelain worry stones that Conner makes individually, so no two will ever be alike. Worry stones have been around for ages and are used to relieve stress, focus the mind and clear the head. But Conner has found an additional benefit of SoulStones: when you’re rubbing the stone, you will find yourself unplugging from your electronic devices. Conner believes that people, and especially people his age, spend way too much time on their smartphones, tablets and laptops. By unplugging periodically people can focus on what’s really important in their lives.

Each SoulStone is glazed in a color that is designed to evoke a specific emotion based on the psychology of color. Conner created this additional dimension to a SoulStones to help people reflect on values that matter. Orange stimulates confidence, purple triggers creativity, blue supports tranquility, red increases physical energy, green increases gratitude, pink suggests love and yellow evokes happiness. Although there isn’t hard science behind color psychology, Conner thinks that attaching a value or emotion to each SoulStone is a great way to encourage people to reflect on how they’re feeling and to put some positive energy out into the world. Conner also hopes that isn’t too new-agey for everyone :-)

Conner has always been interested in entrepreneurship and he’s learned a tremendous amount about what it takes to build a business including, hopefully, how to write a press release. SoulStones grew out of a school project that he completed last year as part of an independent learning curriculum. The purpose of the Kickstarter campaign is to raise funds to grow SoulStones into a sustainable, growing venture. Kickstarter is a leading crowd-funding platform that allows entrepreneurs to raise money for their projects through individual backers. The campaign has a funding goal of $5,000 which will be used to finance an e-commerce website, scale production and test advertising.
