Nearly 100 Attend Children’s Healthy Pantry Fundraiser

SARASOTA, Fla. - July 21, 2015 - PRLog -- Children’s Healthy Pantry – a local non-profit dedicated to feeding underserved children in our community – is pleased to announce the success of its signature fundraising event, Party for the Pantry. Nearly 100 guests attended the evening fundraiser, which took place on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at Michael’s Wine Cellar in Sarasota. Pine Shores Presbyterian donated $4,000 to the cause, which combined with the $20 per-guest entry ticket cost resulted in over $6,300 raised. In addition, an anonymous donor committed to providing a matching grant for the next $10,000 received by Children’s Healthy Pantry.

Attendees to the event enjoyed complimentary hors d’oeuvres donated by Michael’s On East, live music, a silent auction for wonderful prizes, and more. “We are thrilled with the turnout and the resulting funds collected to help our local schoolchildren,” said Joyce McCoy, Board President of Children’s Healthy Pantry. “This event brings us closer to our goal of ensuring no student goes without proper nourishment throughout the school day.”

The purpose of Children’s Healthy Pantry is to ensure that children at risk have healthy snacks during the school day. In the 2014 – 2015 school year, Children’s Healthy Pantry delivered over 126,000 items of supplemental nourishment and 76,000 bottles of water to:

·         Glenallen Elementary School

·         Gocio Elementary School

·         Suncoast School for Innovative Studies
