SolarPA's NanoCoat now on Kickstarter

Nanomaterial spray-on coating increases output of solar panels 15%
By: SolarPA

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - July 21, 2015 - PRLog -- SolarPA has developed a coating comprised of nanomaterials that can be sprayed on to solar panels or cells, increasing the efficiency by up to 15%, which will increase the electricity output up to 15%.  The coating is named NanoCoat.

The title of the Kickstarter entry is “Spray-on Coating Will Increase Solar Panel Output 15%” https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1740748185/spray-on-coating-will-increase-solar-panel-output

Increasing the efficiency by 15% means that the output of the panels will increase by approximately 15%. Alternatively for individuals or companies planning an installation, approximately 15% less panels would be required for the same output. This means less panels need to be purchased, a cost savings, as well as reduced number of panels on a roof or solar farm, saving valuable real estate

This work was researched and developed at a leading engineering university in Pennsylvania and a leading university in Texas, culminating after 3 years of R&D.

This results in increased output of existing solar panels already installed on a roof or solar farm.  It can also be used by solar panel companies during manufacturing.

NanoCoat eliminates the need for a Tracking System because refraction and bending of light impinging on the coated solar panel simulates the action of the Tracking System.

The coating process is simple.  Just put in a standard garden sprayer, aim, and spray, as shown in the picture below.  This can be done on panels installed on a roof, on the ground, or even in a large solar farm.

NanoCoat is a mixture of proprietary, patented nanocrystals mixed with a polymer that is dissolved in a non-harmful solvent.

The coating process needs to be fool-proof so that the user can form a thin, uniform coating over the entire panel using simple equipment such as an air compressor or garden sprayer. Too much and it runs.
