Metering International rebrands website to bridge metering and smart energy sectors

CAPE TOWN, South Africa - July 21, 2015 - PRLog -- “Metering International or MI as it is affectionately known in the metering industry was created by and for the industry, and this has and will never change. We are still the industry’s leading choice of news and communication and our move towards increased coverage on utility digitisation and smart energy reflects this”, says Claire Volkwyn, managing editor of the newly branded Metering & Smart Energy International magazine and portal.

For more than 15 years, Metering International has been the flagship publication of Spintelligent’s publishing division and is the global leader in delivering smart utility news and information to over 200 countries. Spintelligent (Pty) Ltd is an Africa, Cape-Town-based media business, specialising in exhibitions, conferences and publishing.

According to the Metering & Smart Energy International managing editor: “the metering sector has evolved and we are seeing more communication and digitisation of technologies into this traditionally conservative sector.  We have reflected this change in Metering International through an extension of our name to include these developments, with the magazine now being called Metering & Smart Energy International.”

Website rebranding on the cards
Volkwyn says the response from the industry has been very positive, “and we are confident that this is the way forward and that aligning our website brand is now vital. While our distribution and readership has grown along with the coverage of the magazine, the disconnect between our magazine and website content and branding was problematic.”

The URL of the website will continue as www.metering.com but, she explains: “our readers will notice a step change in the content and expanded coverage we are now going to be offering. We have a few other very exciting initiatives up our sleeves, including a totally new website, which we hope to launch no later than end October 2015.”
