United the churches stand to celebrate the One

TACOMA, Wash. - July 20, 2015 - PRLog -- In August there will be an event of events, something bold, fresh and historic in many ways. The Grammy award winning Australian Contemporary Christian group for King and Country are coming to Tacoma, WA for a concert that will be FREE to all—free parking, free admission and free activity packets for the kids. What makes this event unique is that it bears only one name, “HOPE 253”, although a local church is organizing it, all area churches have not only been invited, but encouraged to participate. “This is a Jesus thing, an opportunity to bring hope to our friends in the 253 area code and beyond,” said Dean Curry, pastor of Life Center in Tacoma.

“For too long churches tend to operate independently of other churches and it is time for us to all come together and to help one another,” said one of the pastors excited about the event. A story regarding one such pastor reveals how his Grandmother was working at one of the first events to be held in the Tacoma Dome. It was the Billy Graham Crusade in 1983.

She was carrying a box of envelopes and tripped, falling to the floor. As she gathered the envelopes one by one, the last envelope she held in her hands caught her attention because it was her Grandson’s name. There was an instant connection as the two of them had never met. They got together and the rest is history—as they say. That moment was the seed of inspiration for HOPE 253.

This is a FREE event and one thing all of the pastors involved with HOPE 253 would agree with is you never know whom you might meet or connect with. Perhaps someone from your distant past or a brand new connections that might never have happened.

Although this is the first year for Hope 253, organizers are encouraging people to get in line early as they are expecting a much larger turn out then the 8,000+ seats Cheney Stadium will hold. Press releases regarding the event are garnering millions of headline impressions and sponsors include World Vision and Spirit 105.3 – (Faith, Fun and Family). Spirit 105.3 is part of the Christa Broadcasting.
