Avwatch MANET architecture provides law enforcement advantage with surveillance communications

PLYMOUTH, Mass. - July 17, 2015 - PRLog -- Avwatch, Inc.’s (www.avwatch.us) proven network communications technology,which has supported the efforts of firefighters in the West for the past six years, was recently deployed by a Western state law enforcement agency, allowing law enforcement officials to view, remotely and in real-time, the capture of a felon from as far as 40 miles away.

By utilizing the Avwatch Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) technology within the agency’s air and ground vehicles, the agency was able to, from the air, show the capture of a felon in a moving vehicle, and then share the video in real-time via a data link 40 miles across their tactical network. Law enforcement officials had the ability to view the incident remotely on their smart phones, tablets and computers.  The real-time viewing and collaboration this technology provides enhances situational awareness and facilitates operational coordination.

The Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) technology in Avwatch’s communications platform allows users to send and receive large amounts of data instantaneously, and represents a generational advancement over the one way downlink capability legacy systems currently provide. The company’s MANET platform is secure, scalable, and adaptable in diverse geographical environments and weather conditions.

On this particular project, Avwatch worked with Air Bear Tactical Aircraft, the organizationthat served as the primary contractor for the Western law enforcement agency.
