The American Bike Challenge selected the 10 charities that will be the beneficiaries of the inaugural event. This innovative cycling event aims to bring cyclists from across the country together to log over 100,000 miles in support of these causes.

CLEVELAND, Ga. - July 17, 2015 - PRLog -- The American Bike Challenge, a nationwide cycling event that will be bringing together cyclists from around the country to log over 100,000 miles in support of 10 charity partners, announced today the charities that were selected to participate in the event.  The organization received nearly 100 applications from charities around the country to participate in the Inaugural American Bike Challenge..

The selection committee reviewed each application on several criteria and selected the following organizations to be the Charity Partners for the Inaugural American Bike Challenge:

American Lung Association

Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption

Pachamama Alliance

Food For The Poor, Inc.

FRAXA Research Foundation

Cure Alzheimer’s Fund

Earth Island Institute

Children’s Tumor Foundation

Petfinder Foundation

MathCounts Foundation

As charity partners these organizations will be receiving donations that participants earn while they log their cycling miles with the fitRaise App between September 21st and October 5th.  The donations come in the form of pledges for each mile cycled so the more people cycle the more these charities will earn.

Bobby Valentine, CEO of fitRaise, the technology provider of the American Bike Challenge, said “We have selected a great group of charities for this inaugural event.  The selection process was not only complicated by the number of applications, but also by the amazing quality of all the organizations that applied.  This is arguably the most innovative cycling event of 2015”

Participant registrations for the American Bike Challenge will begin on July 22nd which will allow participants several weeks to collect pledges for their chosen charity partner.  Bike clubs wishing to participate in the American Bike Challenge by hosting rides during the event may begin signing up on the American Bike Challenge website.
