ROCHESTER, Mich. - July 16, 2015 - PRLog -- The call is out for speakers and community partners to participate in the 2nd TEDx conference at Oakland University scheduled for Friday, Oct. 23.

The one-day event enriches the lives of those in attendance by highlighting “ideas worth sharing.”

“We are building momentum towards another great TEDx opportunity at Oakland University and invite thinkers, doers, makers, artists and innovators in our community to help spark audience thinking through thought-provoking talks, interactive experiences and innovative demonstrations,” says Amy Rutledge, TEDx Oakland University coordinator.

Individual people and companies are welcome to share their wit, wisdom, passion and breakthrough ideas by speaking, displaying, attending or supporting this event. For more information contact Amy Rutledge at Rutledge@oakland.edu or by visiting www.tedxoaklanduniversity.com.

Tickets for the event will go on sale in August.

For potential speakers:

We don’t want the same old speech… Do you have?

Something that’s new and surprising; an idea or invention that your audience has never heard about.
A great basic idea (that your audience has maybe already heard) with a compelling new argument behind it that challenges beliefs and perspectives.

In other words, an idea isn’t just a story or a list of facts. A good idea takes certain evidence or observations and draws a larger conclusion. What makes a good talk?

For lab presentations:

What is a lab?

TEDx labs are interactive concepts like innovation alleys — exhibits outside of the main stage that show cool new ideas and products or innovative community projects. Please consider supporting an idea like this if you have a new and innovative product you are launching, or a community project and would like to showcase it.
