LONDON - July 16, 2015 - PRLog -- LoudUp was launched on 21st November 2014 with just 50 users following a private beta release.

"We are excited by the growth and the great feedback we are receiving from our users", said Anne Adams, founder of LoudUp. "We have new users joining daily, and the site is constantly evolving to add new features and make this an incredible resource for both music fans and artists globally".

The site offers:

- A way for music fans to discover new music from independent artists and connect with other fans
- The opportunity for artists to network, and connect with industry professionals in the hope of learning from each other, opening up new gigging opportunities, and expanding their fan base
- The ability to rate the artists and songs on the site using a decibel-based scoring system. Users can click the 'Turn me up' button on the artist's tracks and videos to increase the 'loudness' of the artist, and the trending music and videos are shown in the charts on the site
- Updates on your favourite artists on the site. The Follow button seen on most social networks is replaced with a 'Plug In' button which will keep you notified when the artist has added a new track or video or announced a new gig.

Anne Adams, the site's founder and developer, spent 8 years at Merrill Lynch building financial trading applications, leaving to build the site while travelling and volunteering through Asia. She explains, "My love for music is almost matched by my love for coding. I guess I'm quite proud of being a female developer as there aren't many of us out there! I worked with a freelance designer and got outside legal help for writing the terms and policies, but the rest has been all me. The site has been completely self-funded so I guess I treat it like my baby, with all of the obsession and affection that entails!".

As well as helping independent artists to promote their music, LoudUp also aims to change the mindset of current music fans. "Most music fans don't pay attention to artists that they haven't heard on the radio, but there is so much great music out there being played in small to mid-size venues all around the world", Adams noted. "Our slogan is 'rebel against the radio', because we want to encourage music fans to give smaller artists a chance. Pop music is being increasingly dumbed down in order to meet the 'hit' formula. We recently wrote an article about this titled 'Same Hit, Different Day'. We're not pop music haters by any means, we just want music fans to realise that there is so much more outside of what you might hear on the top 40".

The site is well-designed, the layout is simple, and the profile pages are clean and sleek, with simple tabs for navigating through an artist’s music, videos, bio, upcoming gigs, and purchase links. The SoundCloud integration allows tracks to be imported in just a few clicks, and the Facebook and Twitter integrations enable you to bring your other social media platforms together in one page. The activity feed and discussion pages foster the social aspects of the community.

The UK-based site initially launched in London, but has now expanded globally with users in over 40 countries. Plans for the near future include building an app and continuing to grow the community.
