Follow on Google News | The Vriksha – Bonsai Circle announces Celebration of Silver Jubilee over a three day Exhibition“Green Jewels” at Chitrakala Parishath (From July 24-26, 2015)
By: Vriksha Bonsai Circle Sula Jhaveri, Founder & Chairperson of Vriksha states that “we are exhilarated to have completed 25 years of our Bonsai Art Circle which started in 1990, by a few likeminded, nature loving, friends of plants and trees about the wonderful living Art of Bonsai. Today though, the membership strength is moderate it is quite commendable as we take members based on their bonsai knowledge and interest. The enthusiasm and participation of our members was so great that we are now celebrating 25 years of our Bonsai Circle over a three day Exhibition”. The Exhibition will showcase Beautiful and exquisite over 250 Bonsai plants such as Banyan, Peepal, Bougainvillea, Gulmohar, lavender & fruiting trees like mango, Chinese lemon, Tamarind etc. will be a treat to the eyes. During the Exhibition there will be demonstrations on the art of miniaturing by Ms. Latha Rao & other senior members besides is presentation of award to participants. Bonsai will be a learning experience & relevant to city dwellers & garden enthusiasts who do not have space for big Gardens. The Art of Bonsai is an attempt to bring nature into our city homes & create greenery which has calming effect in the mad rush of city life. Latha Rao, President & Co- Founder, Vriksha Bonsai Circle explains that, “Vriksha celebrating Silver Jubilee is a matter of great pride for us and to see our child grow up. We have been successfully promoting the Art of Bonsai, supporting environment activities, and educating the public about Bonsai Cultivation. Members of Vriksha strive to find avenues for personal expression within the confines of good horticultural practice. Bonsai is a pleasant mix of Art form, thought, and suggestion, in a miniature world; and like all good art, it endures”. As a Chapter of the Bonsai Study Group of the Indo-Japanese Association, Mumbai, Vriksha consists of members of varied professions, interests and passion about bonsai holding it together. Vriksha holds workshops, critiques and classes on Bonsai to upgrade their creativity by inviting Indian & International Bonsai Masters.
